Musings with a Stranger
Few months back I went to the city library to relax and read a book. While I was at it, this intoxicated looking man (he wasn't, I judged him too soon) in his mid-40s approached me and striked a conversation with me. At first I was skeptical but eventually gave it a shot.
Our conversations ranged from how he worked as a teacher across northeast to how teaching in Meghalaya was his next endeveour and in his few months of stay here, the city mersmerised him so much that he wanted to settle here forever. He enquired on what was I persuing and went about joking on how he is going to consult me if any health concerns arise. We chuckled. He emphasised about how this library stood on its ground from the 1950s and even saw Meghalaya attaining his independent statehood. He added that he was really happy seeing the young generation in the library and wanted me to continue to be a part of this culture and heritage. We parted ways but this memory and the moment of sharing few parts and minutes of my life with him is going to stay forever in my heart.
